Blogging 201 goals

I really only have one concrete goal for my blog.  To become employed.  Of course whether I do it through the blog or not isn’t necessarily important but I consider the blog’s existence important, if that makes sense.

As supporting, auxiliary goals I have these:

1. I want to help others think through their unemployment, stay upbeat, and provide novel ways of approaching their job search.  I’m doing this by working out my ideas and trying to be as creative as possible.  By helping others I hope to be helping me.  In that respect I want to publish 3 posts per week.
2. I want to create a community of people who are actively, hopefully, and creatively seeking employment.  I know that I should put a concrete number on this like x amount of followers or likes or whatever but I’m not sure what that would look like in reality.  I’m hoping that Blogging 201 will help me define that.  I do know 2 things I would consider signs of success.
   • substantive comments and conversations that could help me and others better search for meaningful work, and
   • legitimate followers.  It may just be me but when I look at new followers’ sites, I get the feeling that they’re just trying to build up their follower numbers and/or trying to sell me on their blogger consulting services.
3. I’d like to find, comment on, and follow one good, complementary blog every day.  A blog that contains content that would make sense for me to follow.

I know these goals should have been posts with the blogging201 tag but this content doesn’t really fit my blog and rather detracts from it.  Therefore I’m leaving it public but not in the menu hierarchy.  So basically unlisted.  If anyone knows of a better way to allow the Blogging 201 community to find this while my regular readership can not, please let me know.
